Compact crossovers are fun and exciting vehicles, and competition in this area is fierce. Let’s see how the two brands handle things with our 2017 Honda HR-V vs 2017 Jeep Renegade comparison.

In an effort to make a fair comparison, we looked at the base models of both of these vehicles. That means for the 2017 Honda HR-V we are studying the LX trim and for the Renegade we are looking at the Sport. Both trims are two-wheel drive, though there are all-wheel drive trims available for both vehicles. In the transmission department, the Renegade Sport is Manual only, but the HR-V LX has both manual and CVT options. We used the CVT option in this comparison as it is the more common choice for prospective buyers.
