Fun for All in the Honda CR-V

The Honda CR-V is part of the highly competitive compact crossover SUV segment, yet it still manages to easily stand out from the other models in New Jersey. The CR-V is known for its fun-to-drive feel and fuel efficiency, both of which are enhanced by the latest model's turbocharged engine. Of course, the CR-V is also highly versatile and spacious despite being a compact vehicle. When you fold down the rear seats, the CR-V gives you 75.8 cubic feet of storage. Even with all five seats occupied, you have 39.2 cubes behind the second row.

Speaking of the second row, adults will find it spacious and comfortable, even on long road trips. The cabin is actually comfortable from any seating position with available leather trim, heated front seats, and 12-way power adjustment for the driver. The Honda CR-V is also among the safest models in its class, courtesy of the available Honda Sensing suite with its advanced features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Collision Mitigation Braking System, and Road Departure Mitigation System.

What's New in the 2023 Honda CR-V?

Honda kicks off its sixth generation of the CR-V in 2023 with a complete redesign. With more space inside, the SUV is ideal for families on the go. Upscale touches such as digital gauges and heated front-row seats give the 2023 CR-V a more luxurious feel, while Honda continues its legacy of safety and value.

Creating the Current Model: CR-V History

The Honda CR-V didn't hit the American market until 1997, two years after arriving in Japan. The CR-V was an immediate success, leading to Honda dropping their Passport, a similarly-sized model made by Isuzu. The CR-V had loose influences from the Civic and was geared towards young families. It had a unibody construction, 126 horsepower, and four-wheel independent suspension plus available Real-Time AWD. The 2002 CR-V got a new suspension and body for the second generation along with a new 160-horsepower engine with i-VTEC variable valve timing for efficiency. The third generation arrived as a 2007 model year with a more quiet and comfortable cabin, a new rigid body design, and a fully independent suspension. It actually got shorter overall, although it also got wider and more spacious overall.
